What I See In Our Future

Economy

I see a resurgence of our economy that is stronger than it ever was. I believe we can achieve this by not selling our children short by cutting their education and other funding related to their overall well being. They will be running our state in the future and the ones bringing new industries to our state. Unfortunately, our legislature and governor have cut a lot of this funding leaving our children's future vulnerable to future failure. They have acted irresponsibly, have disappointed our electorate and have not represented our children. If we act now we can turn these totally sour lemons that we have been given into sweet lemonade that can be enjoyed by everyone for a long time to come. This in turn will pay dividends twenty fold down the road. We can not continue to exclusively think bout the here and now but about our future.

Education

I see Nevada becoming the leader in the nation with regards to education funding. The students of Nevada schools deserve better than what they have been given by the current governor his administration and the legislature. They have had hundreds of millions of dollar cut at K-12, not to mention the millions not given to our wonderful universities and colleges.

Energy

I see Nevada becoming a national broker of alternative energy. We can not continue to rely solely on power from Hoover Dam as the water supply from the Colorado River is dwindling due to our current drought. We should be utilizing the sun's energy more via solar power. We should develop major solar power facilities. Nevada is one of the leading states with sunny days. We also need to harness the wind with wind turbines. Wind turbine farms can generate tremendous amounts of power. Like power from the sun, wind power is a renewable resource. We can look to other states such as California as a model for what we need to accomplish here in Nevada.

Employment

I see a diversified work force where people have the opportunity to earn a decent living wage and a state where parents are not having to work two or three jobs to support their family. If you have the benefit of earning a college degree you will be able to get a job with your degree and make a good wage due to your education without settling for a lower wage job.

Businesses

I see new businesses coming to Nevada due to our wonderful environment for corporations. We need to market our state to those states that have big corporations who are being taxed to the hilt and entice them to come to our state. This will in turn bring more jobs for Nevadans and make our economy stronger.

Leadership

I see myself as being a fiscally responsible, ethical, accountable, and extremely hardworking Governor serving my constituents 24/7. I see myself creating coalitions to help Nevada become a proud state again where we are no longer known for our scandalous political history that has caused shame and embarassment to all of our citizens. I am a leader and have strong moral and ethical principles. I am not going to make promises I am not going to keep. However I can and will make one promise, I promise to uphold our state contitution and serve my constituents faithfully. I despise politicians who promise the moon and the stars and after they are elected they do not deliver the goods promised. Nevada needs a strong leader to guide her back to greatness and build the coalitions necessary in the legislature to reach beyond petty party politics. This focus will allow Nevada to become strong again and make the system work for the people as it was intended for. It is ultimately the job of any elected official in this state or any other one for that matter to serve their constituents as our founding fathers intended when they created our wonderful nation.
